Hammond's Motor Inn Panelbeaters Ltd is a well established Christchurch business owned and operated by Ross Hammond.
After building up the business at our previous residence we found ourselves rapidly running out of room. As this was one of the major points raised at our client advisory panel held in late 1993, and also as we had planned to install a new CMC Spray Bake Oven to further ensure our clients receive the very latest in automotive Spray Bake technology, we found ourselves looking into the possibilities of moving to a larger premises.
Normally in business you try to eliminate anything that would cause disruption,
so it was a case of move now and cut our losses. But in order to reduce
the amount of disruption we decided to do most of the move over that Christmas/New
Year break, which for the most part was successful, however, due to unforeseen
circumstances our official opening had been delayed.
And as for the original reason for the move - which was the need for more room
to install a Spray Bake Oven - we had definitely done the right thing, as the
time it takes the average repair job to go through our system is greatly reduced
due to the speed in which we can refinish a larger number of vehicles.
Other advantages have been larger office space enabling us to offer our clients a client lounge to relax in, a cleaner work area, client parking inside our premises, a reception area so our clients don't have to venture into the workshop, a multi-user phone system that allows us to receive more of our clients calls without disrupting the normal day to day business of organising a busy automotive workshop.

Changes like manufacturers use of High Strength and Ultra High Strength steels,
an assortment of glues, plastics, rust treatments, and electronics. One of the
biggest changes has been the use of different paints and in particular the application
of this new paint.
Hammond's has made further commitment to our clients by qualifying for PPG's Performance Guarantee, with the installation of an air dryer to remove all foreign matter and moisture from the air used to spray with.
We have also installed a satellite linked computer paint mixing system called Shopwatch, which ensures that colour reproduction is perfect. Completing the suite with the installation of the CMC Spray Bake Oven ensures paint durability and client satisfaction.
In mid-2004, Hammond's further increased it's vehicle services when it obtained PC Exhausts, at 236 St. Asaph Street. While continuing to offer the established quality of exhaust and muffler servicing that PC Exhausts is known for, it now also caters for full mechanical and Warrant of Fitness servicing under a new branch called Hammond's Car Care and PC Exhausts.
The Hammond's brand has achieved it's goal of providing clients with a full range of vehicle servicing, meaning no more running around to separate businesses to have your car fixed - Hammond's is your one-stop-shop for all your vehicle needs.
A new addition to Hammond's Car Care is our investment in computerised fault diagnostic equipment, making it much faster and easier to find faults in modern vehicles.
Hammond's is proactive in training all of our staff, so we can offer our clients the very latest in mechanical, repair and painting techniques.
